Pink Friday Bags at South Florida Race for the Cure
Systemax is proud of our ongoing support of Susan G. Komen for the Cure on both a national and local level. This weekend CompUSA attended the South Florida Race for the Cure 2010 in West Palm Beach, Florida. This was an incredible event with over 20,000 racers (estimates were as high as 24,000!) and over 1,800 breast cancer survivors were present as well – all carrying Pink Friday bags from CompUSA.
Ambassador and Komen CEO Nancy Brinker was in attendance as well as the Grand Marshall Olivia Newton John, who lives in the area. Olivia actually completed the Race along with her husband. The Race area in downtown West Palm Beach was breathtaking as it was situated across from the intercoastal – with a cool breeze blowing in from the Atlantic.
All survivors in attendance today received a CompUSA Pink Friday bag which were also distributed during the holiday season through our retail stores! These ever-popular bags have been given away two years in a row during the annual Pink Friday event, were handed out at the Komen conference in Dallas during July and were everywhere you looked during these event. Check out the gallery below or visit Flickr for some even bigger and better views.
We are proud of our continued involvement with Komen for the Cure and their ongoing quest to bring and end to breast cancer. We look forward to upcoming Komen conferences in Dallas and Pink Friday 2010 later this year – as well as your participation!
